The journey begins with the digestive system where students will discover through an interactive lab what nutrients and molecules make up the found they eat. They will continue their inquiry with a reading passage, teacher presentation (slides and video format available), worksheets, and a 2-question check-for-understanding assessment. The lesson includes differentiated questions and reading passages as well as Digital counterparts to most of the worksheets through Google Drive!

The Respiratory System – Lab, reading passage, worksheets, and more!

The journey continues with the respiratory system where students will engage in an engineering challenge before making a working model of the respiratory system using balloons. They will continue their inquiry with a reading passage, teacher presentation (slides and video format available), worksheets, and a 2-question check-for-understanding assessment. The Circulatory System – Lab, reading passage, worksheets, and more!

Next stop is the circulatory system where students will activate their own circulatory system to investigate how it works and what it does. They will continue their inquiry with a reading passage, teacher presentation (slides and video format available), worksheets, and a 2-question check-for-understanding assessment. The lesson includes differentiated questions and reading passages as well as Digital counterparts to most of the worksheets through Google Drive!

How Cellular Respiration Works

Finally, students put it altogether by exploring what the cells do with the nutrients once they’ve arrived from the body systems. Students engage in 2 interactive labs to explore the single cell and observe cellular respiration in action before engaging in a reading passage and worksheet. The reading passage is differentiated and available digitally through Google Drive. Students will wrap up the lesson by returning to their disease reports and writing the final paper.
